Welcome Back to the NEW 2010 Season!

First I'd like to welcome new head coach John Reinertsen and thank him for taking over for me :)

I know John very well. He is a fantastic player (just finished his college career) and has worked teaching tennis for a long time. He will bring all sorts of new ideas and I'm confident he will step in and do a fantastic job. I want to let you all know that I will miss coaching but appreciate the time to "regroup". I will still be around this season to help here and there so you know I still care! I will get John to fill you in on his numerous qualifications once I introduce him to the blog! Hopefully this blog takes off with all sorts of pictures and news about North's successes! Maybe I'll have to enlist help??? Please let me know if you're interested.

Raider Invite

North Girls took 3rd Saturday 9-19 in the North Raider Invite. Congratulations to the following Lady Raiders:

Special thanks to Hannah for stepping in at the last minute and playing #3 singles :) That's awesome dedication to the team!

North Girls take 8th

Sheboygan North took 8th in the 16 team tennis tournament at Brookfield Central. Round 1 they had a great defeat against Kenosha Bradford 5-2, Round 2 lost to the always strong Brookfield Central 7-0, Round 3 was a hard fought battle with Green Bay Southwest but lost 7-0 Finally they ended the tournament with another tough loss to Kenosha Tremper 6-1. I thought they really started out strong but then took a couple hard hits and found it difficult to fight back. The scores do not always show how close some of the matches really were. I think we learned a lot about our games this weekend and know what we need to work on to pull out some of these matches. Despite the weather and other conditions we finished the tournament and I'm proud of all the girls!!!

Senior/Parents Night will be Tuesday September 22. We will be hosting De Pere that night, probably our toughest opponent in our division...we'd love all the cheers available that afternoon! Competition starts at 4...:)

Girls who ordered uniforms: They should arrive tomorrow. With shipping they came to $40.

Waukesha Invitational Results: Wed. 8-19-09

Sheboygan North had a great day at the Waukesha South 8 Team Invitational at Heyer Park in Waukesha. Beautiful weather and great competition!

1S Alexandra Bayliss took 3^rd beating Waunakee 6-1, 6-1, losing to Waukesha South (Katy Allen last years state runner up) 6-3, 6-4 and then defeating another state player Rhinelander (Priyanka Sikka) 6-4, 6-4,

2S Erin Johnson took 2^nd beating Madison East 7-6 , 6-1…beating DePere 6-2 7-5 and then losing a grueling 3^rd set to Kenosha Bradford 7-6, 0-6, 10-8.

3S Alice Zhao took 3^rd beating DePere 6-4, 6-2, losing to Madison East 0-6, 6-4, 6-10 and then beating Madison LaFollette 6-2, 6-0

4S Conner Dlugopolski took 4^th beating Waunakee 6-4, 6-4 . Losing to Madison East 7-6, 4-6, 10-6and Madison LaFollette 6-2, 6-3

1D Samantha Norman and Anna Shircel lost to a solid Waukesha South team 6-4, 7-5 and the a tougher Madison LaFollette team 6-0, 6-3

2D Megan Copsey and Jaime Testwuide took 2^nd beating Madison East 6-3, 7-5 beating Kenosha Bradford 6-3, 6-4 and losing to DePere 6-2, 6-0

3D Jordan Blindauer and Kelsey Beck took 3^rd. Beating Waunakee 5-7, 7-5, 10-4 losing to Waukesha South 6-4, 6-1 and the beating Madison LaFollette 7-6, 4-6, 10-7
